Bokeh

I tried my hand on some bokeh this Christmas season. For some reason, this style of photography has always intimidated me! It looks so pretty but I feel like it is always just out of reach of my skill set. It is something that does not come naturally to me and I will be more determined to keep trying. So here we go my first try-

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

PS I am getting ankle surgery at the end of the year so my photos probably won't appear until a few months into next year! Stay healthy and safe everyone!

The Last Rock Hunt

My mom LOVES rock hunting and after COVID hit it became the main activity we could all do safely  together! My boys have found a knack for it and love to go out. Having a budding paleontologist makes it really fun for my second oldest. I like to take the time to really slow down and see the 'little' beauties of the rocks and plants. I hope you enjoy my finds!

In the canyon

A day trip to Sink's Canyon revealed some beautiful hidden treasures!

the broken, bleeding heart

and the hidden color within the moth.

and tiny cones!

Nature never ceases to amaze!

don't make 'em like they used to

Summer of Red

It was definitely a summer of red- from the heat waves that scorched us all and turned us sunburned to the fires that sent gusts of red flames and smoke through the air. The summer of 2021 was RED!

Berries and stuff

I love going rock hunting with my family! My mom loves rocks and has a nice rock tumbler and collection. It is a great way to get outside and enjoy the sun! I love to take my camera and see what might 'catch my eye' out in the Wyoming wilderness.  I have yet to see any really neat wildlife but since those mainly consist of the deadly variety I think I am okay passing.

Grasshopper

Now I know most people wouldn't take the time to photography these suckers much less share it with the world but hey- I am not most people!

Dandelion

The other day by second, Ammon, brought me the biggest dandelion I have ever seen! It was HUGE! Before I could grab my phone, a camera, anything it just blew away in the wind. Thank you, Wyoming. Then a few days later I pulled up to my house and saw ANOTHER one! I was so excited, I grabbed my camera and went to work before the wind could take it away. I love dandelions because I love 'wishes' :) But never have I been able to see the exquisite detail of those seeds- just beautiful!

Baseball Season

When my second was 3 he did a summer of T-ball and absolutly loved it. Now, the funy part was he was too short to actually hit the ball off the T and kept hitting the stick instead! He got the giggles and just couldn't stop. It was a fun activity. This year he is now 10 (10!!!!) and he has gone out for baseball again!! This time he is more than tall enough to hit the ball off the T and Mom gets to enjoy attending 100 degree practices ;) Actually, it has been a lot of fun seeing him enjoy playing baseball. I kept seeing all the balls being tossed to the side and knew there was a photo op just waiting! I hope you enjoy and these photos bring back some childhood memories of your own!

Lilies of the Field

This Mother's Day I recived my first ever delivery of flowers!!! I was so shocked and excited! My mom had the most beautiful lilies sent and they are just heaven! The colors, the smell (I never knew lilies had a fragrance!) -they are just gorgeous! I have been in a bit of a rut lately and so I challenged myself to give these beautiful lilies a 'photoshoot'. I hope you like the result!

Frozen Waterfalls

This has been the craziest winter I have ever had in Wyoming! There is virtually NO snow and we haven't even had any. It is also super warm for January and February. I am used to the high's being in the single digits and this year we have had days in the 50F's and one day hit 60F! Just insane. Due to this craziness I did notice these amazing frozen waterfalls being created in the Wind River Canyon- I finally drove through and had my camera on a day when the sun hit the canyon wall. They remind me of melted ice cream and if you didn't know it was frozen, the higher waterfall looks pretty intense!

I hope you enjoy! What has your winter been like?
