Summer of Red

It was definitely a summer of red- from the heat waves that scorched us all and turned us sunburned to the fires that sent gusts of red flames and smoke through the air. The summer of 2021 was RED!

Sinks Canyon Spring Runoff 2017

I love Sink's Canyon- it is one of the most wonderful natural occurrences! The water disappears under ground for two hours and then re-appears at the rise just a quarter mile down stream. No one knows where the water disappears too or how MORE water comes out then goes in! I love natural mysteries that still are not solved!

So.... this spring we are having a very unusually high run off and the overflow is just filled with water! Not a normal thing- I haven't seen it in the 13 years since I moved to Wyoming! Anyway, I had a great time hiking around the area and took some pictures of the creek. One week later this same creek was OVERFLOWING and the hiking trail was flooded over! They estimate that the river will rise even more over the next week or so.
