Bokeh

I tried my hand on some bokeh this Christmas season. For some reason, this style of photography has always intimidated me! It looks so pretty but I feel like it is always just out of reach of my skill set. It is something that does not come naturally to me and I will be more determined to keep trying. So here we go my first try-

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

PS I am getting ankle surgery at the end of the year so my photos probably won't appear until a few months into next year! Stay healthy and safe everyone!

The Christmas Star

I was so excited to see another celestial event in 2020-until the entire week leading up to the event provided me with nothing but clouded skies!! I was so dissapointed to think I was going to miss it. So I decided to load all my kids up (4 boys!) and take a trip 20 miles out of town to a ghost town and hope that the star would break through the clouds. I mean seriously, in the whole sky clouds only permeated the South/Southwest where the star was? We looked and looked for half an hour with no luck. Loaded back up in the truck and started to drive home when suddenly, THERE IT WAS! We all quickly scrambled out of the truck again, I grabbed my camera and was able to snap a few photos of the beautiful Christmas Star! It was cold, a little windy and starting to dissapear but I was able to get a few shots that I am pleased with. They aren't your 'perfect' star pictures that you imagine to see but for me they are perfect. I hope you enjoy them as well. Merry Christmas!

Winter Frost

I love winter photography- funny thing considering I don't really like the cold! I gotta say though, nature makes the prettiest art!
